We first learned of
Polish Pottery through our daughter in law, whose family is from the
Ukraine. She had received some of this wonderful pottery and loved
it, as did we! We discovered it was hard to find – a frustration
for us and many around us. So we decided to go to Boleslawiec,
Poland and see for ourselves the origin of this special product. We
could not resist! We began importing the best examples of
artistic tableware we could find, the Signature patterns,
known as Unikat in Poland. They are the most intricate in
design made, with between six and eight colors and signed by the
artist. At any given time we carry 10 to 14 patterns, in about 60
different shapes – a large inventory. We ship from Connecticut, in
a timely manner and pride ourselves in customer service. Feel free
to call us any time.
About the Pottery
The
stoneware/pottery we offer is from Boleslawiec, Poland where this
unique hand crafted table art is produced. It is so beautiful to
display (both in stores and in homes) and is a gourmet’s and cook’s
delight. Special
white clay is
used; a mix of mineral substances that occur in sedimentary rocks
and soils. It is soft when moist, but when fired at 2300 degrees
Fahrenheit it becomes as hard as stone. This intense firing makes
it resistant to chips and breakage, causes it to retain heat, have
even temperature throughout, (making it exceptional for baking and
serving), and makes each piece safe for the oven, microwave,
dishwasher.
Some people only
collect it to display. Others would not think of cooking in
anything else. Many use it everyday for all their meals. And,
others will give only these beautiful and practical pieces as
gifts. To be sure, a display of this pottery will enhance your
store and draw many to consider which of these pieces to purchase,
coming back time and again. |
